Eduardo André Salazar (“Eddie”) is a San Antonio criminal defense attorney with Fowlks Law Firm, PLLC, representing clients in serious state and federal criminal matters throughout Texas. 

His practice includes state and federal criminal defense, criminal appeals, petitions for  discretionary review, Texas habeas corpus applications, federal habeas corpus proceedings, and  other forms of post-conviction relief. 

Eddie brings to Fowlks Law Firm a background shaped by sophisticated criminal litigation,  constitutional law, appellate advocacy, and intensive legal research and writing. His experience  includes complex federal prosecutions, serious felony matters, criminal appeals, and post conviction proceedings where the stakes can include a client’s freedom, reputation, livelihood, and future.

Before joining Fowlks Law Firm, Eddie spent approximately three years with Goldstein & Orr, a nationally recognized criminal defense firm based in San Antonio.

He began with the firm as a law clerk while attending St. Mary’s University School of Law and continued as an associate attorney after earning his Juris Doctor.

Working under the mentorship of respected criminal defense attorneys Gerald Goldstein and Cynthia Orr, Eddie gained significant experience in complex state and federal criminal litigation, constitutional issues, appellate advocacy, and post-conviction proceedings.

Eddie is fluent in Spanish and communicates directly with Spanish-speaking clients and their Families.

He also has basic proficiency in French and German.

Eddie’s perspective was shaped long before he entered a courtroom.

Born in Honduras into a Foreign Service family, he spent his formative years living in Thailand, South Africa, and Germany. Growing up across different countries and cultures gave him a broad perspective and an early appreciation for public service.

He also comes from a multigenerational family committed to serving others.

That background helped shape his decision to become an attorney and advocate for individuals confronting one of the government’s greatest powers: the power to investigate, prosecute, convict, and imprison.

Eddie ultimately made San Antonio home.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Trinity University in 2018 before earning his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in May 2023.

He is a first-generation attorney.

Eddie was not brought to Fowlks Law Firm simply to serve as an associate attorney. He is being developed as part of the firm’s long-term future.

Mr. Fowlks is actively mentoring and developing Eddie for an expanded leadership role within the firm, including helping lead the development of Fowlks Law Firm’s Austin office and supporting the firm’s continued growth along the I-35 corridor—from Bexar County to Travis County and beyond.

As the firm expands across Central Texas, Eddie is being prepared to assume greater responsibility for the leadership, development, and operation of the Austin office, while continuing to handle serious criminal defense, appellate, and post-conviction matters.

This responsibility reflects the confidence Fowlks Law Firm places in Eddie not only as an advocate, but as a future leader entrusted with carrying forward the firm’s standards, culture, and approach.

Outside the practice of law, Eddie enjoys reading about developments in technology, listening to podcasts focused on health and finance, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
